We began in the lockdown of 2020, it felt even more important in this time of world craziness, that we as women had a safe space to gather and to just “BE”.
Sacred Sister has been created by Laura Ireland, a sister with a deep story of adversity around women in her own life story. She has had to learn to trust and feel safe with women when all through her life it has not been easy. This has led her on a journey of deep self healing, discovery and a deep desire to support women after holding events and gatherings for over 20 years and a career that has spanned over 30 years in the spa and wellbeing industry.
A letter from Laura:
Welcome Sister, I am so happy that you found us, however you got here, know that all of you is always welcome. Creating something as beautiful as Sacred Sister, has given me so much pleasure and has also been my biggest challenge at times. I have been on a fast track to healing my old wounds and patterning around women along with learning how to build websites, create social media content, and support how to grow Sacred Sister, because this was not how I saw my life path years ago, yet I knew something was coming, I felt something in my heart, bigger than me, that needed to birth through me into the world. Now I cannot imagine my life without it. I was told recently that for Sacred Sister to grow I need to start treating it like a business, but this is so tough for me to do, because it is so much more than that. This growing community of awesome women, has taught me so much, and I feel deeply in service to the women who show up. As an ordained Interfaith Minister, this is my Ministry, to support women to find HOME, back to the unwavering path of LOVE.
Love for self, love for another, love for the sisterhood.
We are the pattern breakers, the healers, the ones that came here to join hearts, to link arms to truly MAKE A DIFFERENCE in this world. We are all walking this planet, the great mother, at this time for a reason and our paths cross when the moment is right. I take responsibility for me, I am the ONE in my own life that will always be there for me, nobody can fix me, or heal me, I am not broken, but I also know in my heart, that my fastest way to bring about change is to relate with another, to gather with my tribe, to feel their love and support, to know that I am never alone.
My hope for you, as a Sacred Sister is that you get a chance to journey with the deeper inner work, through community, dance, song, hugs, stories, circle, soul food, nature, planting trees, being present with your sisters, in ceremony, through creativity, in meditation, performance, and right relationship with each other. At a gathering, retreat, circle, online, or in person wherever we meet our hearts will know our own truth, and our souls will recognise each other.

OUR MISSION
Sacred Sister is a community that brings women from all walks of life together to connect through their beautiful hearts on a quest to speak and love openly, freely, authentically, to heal deeply, and to embody their full potential. We believe that we share so much more in common than we might ever realise from the surface. When we engage in safe space, with vulnerability, we allow our true selves to be seen. The details of our day job, our home town, our education, our relationship status, our families, fall away and we are reminded that we are simply humans, women, who have a desire to be loved and understood, just as we are.
This moves beyond the colour of our skin, our faith, religion, our financial status, our gender orientation, our choice of who we love, where we grew up, how we have lived our lives, it says first and foremost
I AM WOMAN, I CONNECT TO LIFE AS A WOMAN, I AM OPEN TO LEARN TO TRUST THE SISTERHOOD AS A WOMAN.
We seek to build authentic connection over the common threads that pass between us, as we gather together and something in us “knows” the other, but we allow that sister to be on her journey, not seek to change her, but to sit with her, in the darkness if we need too and in this we find an undeniable truth that we are not alone, even in some of our most challenging experiences.
We believe that holding an unconditionally loving space for an individual in their process can be a completely transformative experience. When we are surrounded by unwavering love, support, genuine care, getting through our darkest moments feels possible. We honour the unique road that the individual has walked and the lessons they have learned along the way. We believe that each sister knows best how to walk her own path and we trust in the choices she makes for herself, through radical acceptance.
Sacred Sister was created at a time when women needed community, support, and healing. It took bravery to stand up in this time of world change, but we put ourselves out there, we shared our vision, and 144 sisters gathered at our first event, the magic number, and we knew that there were countless others in this world, needing community too. We envision a world where the feminine and masculine, that exists separately and in all of us, can come together in vulnerability to witness, connect, and heal the divide. We are dedicated to holding sacred spaces where people feel free to be themselves, to share what is in their open hearts, and to trust that they are supported and loved for it. A world where gathering in circle, is as common nature as going to the gym, where we feel safe, to open our homes to those in need in our local areas, and share deep conversation, allowing the wounds of the sisterhood to slowly heal.

Inclusion:
It is important to us that Sacred Sister has at its heart an attitude of inclusivity, welcoming, non-judgement and non-discrimination. We are always a continued work in progress in our deep understanding around cultural diversity and inclusivity.

The cultural landscape is ever changing so any suggestions as to how we might make this work and the spaces we create more inclusive and diverse are always welcome.
What we can be certain of and assure you of is that every event we hold at Sacred Sister will always be inclusive of all women of every faith and inclination: including maids, mothers, wise women and crones, cis women, gay women, straight women, bi women and queer women, women of colour, women who couldn’t care less; young women over 18 and those who live full time as a woman.
We will try where possible, to accommodate women with additional needs if the spaces we are creating in allows, and we will always look to make sure that this is the case.
Please reach out to talk through your requirements and to support our growth in this area, and please be KIND, we are always doing our best and learning along the way, and if we get it wrong, which we will sometimes, however hard we try, then please do bring it to us, there is nothing worse than hearing we got it wrong from someone else, our door is always open.
What We’ve Achieved so far…..
Summer Gathering 2020 as we came out of lockdown we held our first women’s wild camp.
We created Shine, our 12 month program and launched in Spring 2021 and have just completed our first year and now at the end of our second year.
We’ve held numerous circles, facebook lives, sharing’s in the Sacred Sister Community.
Summer Gathering 2021 was another beautiful gathering in a field.
Two large gatherings in 2022 with over 120 women at each.
Connecting women for deep listening and support.
Gathering a beautiful crew of women who truly know how to create safe space after many years of event holding.
Flourish luxury retreat with beautiful space creators.
2023 will see our facilitator training coming up, for those who wish to hold circle for their own communities.
Our Soul Family Membership is also getting ready to launch.
