WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
Sacred Sister was born in the midst of the chaos and uncertainty of 2020 - an extraordinary year that left many of us yearning for connection, healing, and support. The world as we knew it had shifted, and women everywhere were navigating new challenges, often feeling isolated and disconnected.
In that time of unprecedented change, Sacred Sister emerged as a beacon of hope, created with the vision of offering a safe and nurturing space for women to gather, share, and simply BE.
Created by Laura Ireland, inspired by her own journey of healing the sister wound, Sacred Sister was born out of the recognition that many of us, as women, have been conditioned to mistrust each other, to compete instead of collaborate. The journey to learn how to feel safe, to build trust, and to connect with one another was something that Laura felt deeply - and she knew that there were countless other women out there who were also longing for this kind of space.
In the midst of a global pandemic, it took courage to step forward, to put herself and her vision out into the world. But that act of bravery was met with an overwhelming response. 144 sisters gathered at Sacred Sister’s first event - the magic number, as it turned out - and from that moment, we knew that this was just the beginning. There were many more women out there in need of this community, this sense of belonging, and this place of healing.
Today, Sacred Sister is growing every day, with women from all corners of the world coming together to support each other, to heal, and to create positive change in their own lives and in the world. Our commitment is to make a difference - not only for us, but for the generations of women to come.
OUR SACRED MISSION
Sacred Sister is more than a community—it's a sanctuary where women come together to reclaim their full selves, rooted in love, support, and deep connection. We exist to create a space where women from all walks of life can connect through their hearts, speak openly, and walk together on a journey of healing, empowerment, and transformation.
In this sacred space, we shed the labels that often define us - our titles, our roles, our histories—and we remember that we are simply human, simply women, with an innate desire to be loved, understood, and supported. Here, we meet each other in our rawest, most authentic selves, without judgment or expectation.
At Sacred Sister, we believe that the act of being held in unconditional love is a powerful force for change. When we create safe and vulnerable spaces for each other, we allow the deepest healing to occur. Together, we navigate our struggles and celebrate our victories, knowing that in the presence of sisterhood, anything is possible. In our darkest moments, love becomes the light that guides us through.
We honour each sister’s unique path, embracing the choices she makes with radical acceptance. Our work is rooted in the understanding that each woman is the expert of her own life, and that true empowerment comes from honouring her sovereignty. Through education, community, and spiritual growth, Sacred Sister provides the tools and support for women to reconnect with their truest selves, each other, and the natural world.

OUR VISION FOR THE WORLD
We envision a world where the feminine and masculine energies, which exist both separately and within each of us, can come together in deep vulnerability, connection, and mutual healing. In this world, we no longer fear the spaces where our differences meet but embrace them as opportunities for growth, understanding, and unity.
We see a world where every individual feels truly free to show up as their authentic self, where hearts can be openly shared without fear of judgement, and where trust in love and support is ever-present.
A world where gathering in circle is not just a sacred practice but as commonplace as going to the gym. Where our homes are open to those in need, and deep, meaningful conversations become the fabric of our daily lives. Here, women gather to heal the wounds of sisterhood, to share stories, and to lift each other up, recognising the inherent power in community.
We envision a world where women are deeply connected to themselves, their bodies, the Earth, and each other - a world where healing flows through us all, and collective wellbeing is not just a possibility, but a reality. In this world, women are empowered to live their fullest potential, not just for themselves, but for the collective good of the world.

Our Sacred Agreement is the heartbeat of Sacred Sister, the foundation of trust, respect, and love that binds us together. It is what sets us apart, ensuring that our space is not just a set of guidelines, but a living commitment to understanding and honoring the needs of each woman. True safety and connection can only be created when we take the time to truly see and support one another, both online and in person.
This Sacred Agreement is designed to help each sister feel supported and nurtured, allowing the nervous system to relax, defenses to lower, and true healing to take place. It is a promise that we uphold to create a space where women can show up as their authentic selves, knowing they are safe and deeply held in love.

Women with diverse physical experiences of womanhood: Whether you’ve had a hysterectomy, no longer menstruate, or experience womanhood outside the traditional biological markers, you are still a woman, and your experience is valid. Women with disabilities and neurodiversity: We celebrate all women, including those with visible and invisible disabilities, chronic conditions, or neurodivergent experiences. WHAT WE HAVE ACHIEVED SO FAR…
From the first spark of Sacred Sister to the vibrant, thriving community we are today, we have co-created a space that truly honours the heart of sisterhood, healing, and empowerment. Here’s a glimpse of what we’ve achieved together:
Gathering Women Together: Since our first Summer Gathering 2020, marking the end of lockdown and our first women’s wild camp, we’ve hosted numerous gatherings and camps, each one deepening our connection and strengthening our sisterhood. This year will be our 5th annual gathering and we will be bringing the celebration.
The Creation of Shine: In Spring 2021, we launched Shine, our 12-month program designed to help women step into their fullest potential, a journey of growth, empowerment, and transformation.
Circles and Community: Through countless circles, Facebook Lives, and shared moments in our free Sacred Sister Community Group, we’ve created spaces for connection, healing, and shared wisdom.
Deep Listening and Support: We’ve connected women one-to-one and in private groups, offering deep listening, care, and support during times of transformation.
Our Beautiful Crew of Supporters: We’ve gathered a dedicated crew of women, experienced in holding space and facilitating events, who help create safe, nurturing environments at every gathering.
Circle Facilitator Training: Our Circle Facilitator Training empowers women who feel called to hold safer spaces in their own communities, ensuring the healing power of circles continues to spread.
Transformative Retreats: From our luxurious Flourish 5-day gathering to our intimate 3-day retreats on Dartmoor and woodland escapes, we’ve curated spaces for women to recharge, reconnect, and find their flow.
Creating Safer Spaces at Festivals: We’ve extended our work to festivals like Heart of the Rose, Burning Woman, Medicine Woman Gathering and Womanfest, creating environments where women can come together, heal, and support each other.
The Sacred Sister Journal: We’re proud of our 300-page co-created Sacred Sister Journal, featuring the work of 13 incredible British female artists, celebrating the creativity and healing of the feminine.
The Sacred Thread & Around the Kitchen Table: With The Sacred Thread blog and Around the Kitchen Table podcast, we’ve created platforms to share wisdom, stories, and insights from women walking this path together.
Becoming A Community Interest Company: We are now stepping further into the world as a CIC, and approaching funding bids to bring us into a space where we can support even more women, and truly make a difference.
Launching our Membership: All in perfect timing, we will be opening May 2025 and it feels so good to be bringing all we do online into one platform and offering, we are really excited. Find our more here.

As we continue to grow and evolve, Sacred Sister remains committed to offering more spaces for healing, connection, and empowerment. We’ll be introducing more circles, retreats, and transformative programs to help women reconnect with their inner wisdom. Just as we have grown, so too will our community—ever-evolving, ever-deepening, and always expanding.
Together, we will continue to create spaces where women can show up as their fullest selves, free from judgment and full of possibility.

To honour our mission and expand our impact, Sacred Sister is now a registered Community Interest Company (CIC).
This means that everything we do — every offering, every purchase, every circle — is created not for profit, but for the benefit of the wider community. We are committed to reinvesting back into the spaces, tools, and training that help women rise.
We chose this path because our work is not just a business — it’s a movement. A living, breathing mission to help women reclaim their worth, their voice, and their sacred belonging.
By becoming a CIC, we are anchoring our future in integrity, accessibility, and collective care.
