The Taurus New Moon: Why Women Struggle To Receive

There is so much conversation in the world right now about abundance.

Manifesting abundance.
Calling in abundance.
Stepping into abundance.
Becoming magnetic for abundance.

And honestly?

I think many women are exhausted from trying to “manifest” a life they don’t even have the nervous system capacity to receive.

Because the deeper issue for many women is not:
“How do I attract more?”

It is:
“Why do I struggle to receive in the first place?”

This Taurus New Moon feels like such a powerful invitation to explore that honestly.

Not from a place of shame.
But from a place of compassion.

Because many women have spent their entire lives being taught to give.

To nurture.
To hold.
To care.
To anticipate everyone else’s needs.
To emotionally manage relationships.
To overextend themselves.
To carry more than they should.
To survive by becoming useful.

And somewhere along the way, many of us disconnected from the ability to simply receive.

Receive support.
Receive rest.
Receive help.
Receive compliments.
Receive love.
Receive care.
Receive pleasure.
Receive softness.
Receive enoughness.

How many women instantly say:
“I’m fine.”
“I’ll do it.”
“Don’t worry about me.”
“It’s easier if I just sort it myself.”

How many women feel guilt the moment they slow down?

How many women only feel worthy when they are giving, fixing, producing or caring for someone else?

This is not simply a mindset issue.

It is relational.
Emotional.
Generational.
Nervous system deep.

Because many women learned very early that love was connected to what we could provide.

Be helpful.
Be good.
Be easy.
Be selfless.
Be needed.
Be accommodating.
Do not ask for too much.
Do not become a burden.

And over time, receiving can begin to feel deeply unsafe.

Because receiving requires openness.
Softness.
Trust.
Worthiness.
Presence.

And many women have never truly felt safe in those states.

Especially in a world that constantly tells women to do more, improve more, achieve more and carry more.

Which is why this Taurus New Moon feels important.

Because Taurus is not rushing.

Taurus reminds us:
slow down.
land in your body.
come back to the Earth.
simplify.
nourish yourself.
create safety.
allow beauty.
allow pleasure.
allow enoughness.

This is not the energy of forcing abundance.

It is the energy of becoming available for life again.

And perhaps this is where true abundance actually begins.

Not through endlessly trying to manifest more…

But through healing the part of ourselves that believes we must constantly earn love, rest, support and nourishment.

The part that struggles to receive because somewhere along the way we learned survival through over-giving.

This is why I believe women are so exhausted right now.

Not because we are weak.
But because so many women have become disconnected from the simple human experience of being held too.

Held by community.
Held by friendship.
Held by ritual.
Held by the Earth.
Held by stillness.
Held by each other.

And maybe this New Moon is asking us a gentler question.

Not:
“What more can I create?”

But:
“What would happen if I allowed myself to receive?”

Receive rest.
Receive support.
Receive beauty.
Receive slowness.
Receive enoughness.
Receive life.

Without guilt.

Without proving.

Without needing to earn it first.

Because perhaps abundance is not something we force into existence.

Perhaps abundance begins the moment we stop abandoning ourselves long enough to actually feel what is already here.

This week inside Sacred Sister, we are leaning into this Taurus New Moon through meditation, reflection and ritual — not to become more productive women, but to become more connected women.

Women who remember that receiving is not selfish.

It is part of being fully alive.

With love,
Laura x
